What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?
It is a highly effective cutting-edge combination of positive psychotherapy and relaxing, pleasant hypnosis. It uses practical, modern, and well researched strategies to help people make significant, positive changes in their lives in a relatively short period of time.
This refreshing approach always focuses on the present and future, and NEVER on the past. The hypnotherapist asks the client to consider their preferred future, for instance, What would be better if the problem had improved? What would have changed? This enables the client’s possible solutions to become more apparent and more easily worked towards. Hypnosis itself reduces anxiety, and this is achieved very simply, through relaxation and visualisation, allowing the client to focus on the positive aspects of their lives, thus encouraging that all important shift in perspective.

The Initial Consultation
In this session, you are able to discuss how you would like hypnotherapy to help. Claire will explain how the brain works, how this relates to your own situation, and most importantly what can be done to help. The session lasts up to an hour and a half, and you should have a good idea of how subsequent sessions progress, how hypnotherapy helps, and whether you think that it is something you can benefit from.
If you decide that it will benefit you, then Claire will book you in for sessions, with dates and times to to suit you, and you will take a copy of her relaxation track away with you. This track is an important part of your treatment and you will be asked to listen to it every night to support your hypnotherapy sessions.

Subsequent Solution Focused Hypnotherapy sessions all usually follow the same format. In each one, Claire first uses Solution Focused discussion, which leads naturally and enjoyably on, towards a positive, realistic, achievable view of your future. You will never be asked to revisit difficult or distressing emotions or memories. After this pleasant therapeutic discussion, gentle, deeply relaxing trance helps to consolidate the progress made in the talking therapy. At home, Claire's wonderfully relaxing and inspiring track Relaxation and Coping Calmly, supports the work you have done over the weeks, in your therapy sessions.
